REP. STUTZMAN APPLAUDS TRUMP ANNOUNCEMENT MARKING THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

March 20, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) applauded President Donald J. Trump's efforts to close the Department of Education. President Trump has often mentioned Indiana as a state with some of the best educational standards in the country. Following the announcement, Congressman Stutzman released the following statement:

“The federalist system of government our country was founded upon gives states the distinct privilege to make laws that are best for their residents,” said Rep. Stutzman. “When it comes to an issue as important as the education of our children, no one knows better than those closest to them. Unelected federal bureaucrats who have minimal knowledge of the real needs of the future generation of Hoosiers have only wasted tax dollars and made the education our kids receive worse.  President Trump and Secretary McMahon are putting education back to where it belongs - with our states."
