Fiscal Year 2026 Community Project Funding Requests

1) Fort Wayne Police Department -  DNA Machine Procurement

  • Project Recipient: Fort Wayne Police Department
  • Location: 1 East Main Street, Suite 108, Fort Wayne, IN 46802
  • Description: This project would support upgrades and procurement of DNA analysis machines to expedite the analysis of collected forensic evidence for the FWPD.
  • Requested Amount: $1,000,000

2) Fort Wayne City Utilities - Memorial Park Phase 1 – Stormwater and Water Improvements

  • Project Recipient: Fort Wayne City Utilities
  • Location: 200 East Berry Street, Suite 480, Fort Wayne, IN 46802
  • Description: This project would replace the aging storm water infrastructure.
  • Request Amount: $3,000,000

3) Huntington City Water Utility - Huntington Downtown Water Main Replacements

  • Project Recipient: Huntington City Water Utility
  • Location: 300 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN 46750
  • Description: This project will replace aging water infrastructure.   
  • Request Amount: $1,474,360
  • Member Certification Letter 

4) Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) – Rehabilitate Corporate and General Aviation Apron

  • Project Recipient: Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority
  • Location: 3801 West Ferguson Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809
  • Description: This project will replace the aging Corporate and General Apron and select drainage infrastructure.
  • Request Amount: $6,000,000

5) City of Fort Wayne – Ewing Street Bridge Reconstruction 

  • Project Recipient: City of Fort Wayne
  • Location: 200 East Berry Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802
  • Description: This project will begin the process of replacing the superstructure of the Ewing Street Bridges over the St. Mary’s River.
  • Request Amount: $1,000,000

6) City of Bluffton – Bluffton Economic Development Initiatives 

  • Project Recipient: City of Bluffton
  • Location: 128 East Market Street, Bluffton, IN 46714
  • Description: This project will support building affordable housing in Bluffton, including senior apartments and family townhomes.
  • Request Amount: $ 2,400,000

7) City of Fort Wayne - Fort Wayne Day Shelter

  • Project Recipient: City of Fort Wayne

  • Description: This project will support the purchase of land and construction of a day shelter to provide services to Fort Wayne’s homeless population.
